Goodreads Synopsis
Kate ships tons of fictional couples, but IRL her OTP is her and Mick, the hot quarterback she’s crushed on since, like, forever. With only one semester left of senior year, it’s now or never if she wants to land him in time for prom. Since she’s flirtationally challenged, she enlists Cooper Callihan, the guy who turned popular seemingly overnight but who used to be a good friend.

Cooper lives and breathes rowing, but his partner just broke his wrist. When he remembers Kate’s good with a set of oars, he strikes a deal: help him train, and he’ll make sure her crush notices her. Only he didn’t know how addicting spending time with her would be. Or how the more successful the Operation is, the more jealousy he experiences.

The mission has been set. The troops have their marching orders. But what if the target is the wrong guy all along?

Disclaimer: This Entangled Teen Crush book contains stargazing, accidental swimming, and poker swindling. This kissing practice will melt your ereader…and give you a new couple to ship.

Review
I received an Advance Reader Copy from the publisher via NetGalley. This in no way impacted on my view.

In Operation Prom Date, Kate is known for shipping all sorts of people together: fictional, real, you name it. But, the couple she ships most in life is herself with the Quarterback, Mick, which seems like it will never come to fruition. When her old friend Cooper appears to become popular overnight, she enlists his help to work on her flirting skills, to try and bag Mick for the prom before it is too late. To get Cooper on side, she agrees to help him train for rowing, his main love, as his partner is injured and can't practice with him. However, this all seems to backfire on Cooper, as the more time he spends with Kate, the more he remembers how much he enjoyed her friendship, and finds himself getting jealous about the idea of Kate getting with someone who isn't him.

This book didn't have much of a plot to it, but it didn't need it. All of the focus was on Kate and Cooper, and the more time they were together, the more the chemistry was developing, and we could see them falling for each other as the pages went by. Having an old connection and friendship to fall back on, it was natural for the progression from friends to more to take place, and the way in which both fell and realised their feelings for one another was dead cute. The alternating chapters from Kate and Cooper's points of view helped us to see how they were falling for each other, and how much they respected and cared for the other. All in all, this was a book that was the perfect friends-to-lovers style romance, quick, easy, and enjoyable.
