Lady, No More
Series: Naughty Ladies #3
Author: Cerise DeLand
Published July 5th 2022 by Dragonblade Publishing, Inc.
Goodreads Synopsis
She’s through with love.
Lady Laurel Devereaux prided herself on her sterling reputation, even as she overlooked her two younger sisters’ foibles and their ailing grandfather’s little peccadilloes. She always adored frolicking in fountains and dancing before breakfast. But those were innocent delights compared to the one night she left a ballroom to play the piano alone—and a charming man joined her to play a duet that became a mad love affair.
He quickly proposed and just as quickly jilted her. Now she'll marry only for friendship or security or children.
He’ll never give her up again.
Now Hadley, Viscount Grey, arrives in Brighton and vows to win Laurel back. But this time, his greatest problem is not overcoming his competition or challenging Laurel’s vow to remain a proper lady, but her decision to never love another man.
How can he convince her that she simply never stopped loving him?

Review
I received an Advance Reader Copy from the publisher, via NetGalley. This in no way impacted on my view.
After falling for Hadley, Viscount Grey, hard, and then finding herself jilted, Laurel Devereaux will never put her heart at risk again. Declaring she will only marry for security or to have a family, she is shocked when Hadley returns in her life, and vows that he will win her back. Hadley knows he made a mistake leaving Laurel, and winning her back is all he wants. However, it's far more difficult that he could ever have expected, and rather than having to compete against another suitor, he needs to break down her walls, and convince her that she has, and will, always love him.
I always enjoy stories such as this one, full of second chances and past mistakes, and because of that, I think this was my favourite of the series! Hadley and Laurel's romance was not an easy one, and because of her heartbreak, she was vulnerable, and not ready to risk her heart again. Laurel took some time to realise that Hadley was the only person she could ever imagine being with, but it was hard for her to come to that conclusion, and when she did, her stubbornness refused to make it easy. Hadley was patient with Laurel, and allowed her to come to the conclusion they were right for each other at her own pace, which was refreshing. A fantastic ending to the Naughty Ladies series.
