For city girl Harper, instead of wallowing in her recent breakup, she decides to go for her dream and take off to the Scottish Highlands for inspiration to write her book. What should have been a great trip north soon turns into a disaster when her accommodation drops through, and she has to rely on the handsome, grumpy lumberjack Fraser to be her hero. Fraser wants nothing to do with a city girl like Harper, but he can't leave her out in the cold, so he agrees to let her stay in his cabin, as long as she keeps out of his way. So why is Fraser the one struggling to stop thinking about his beautiful housemate?
This book was a perfect summer read when it was getting a little bit too hot, and I wanted some autumnal vibes. The cast of characters were all so diverse and real, with flaws and personas which just made them lovable. Obviously Harper and Fraser fall in love, but they form a real friendship and camaraderie that I appreciated, with their scenes of getting to know each other making me have such a grin on my face.
