Review
I received an Advance Reader Copy from the publisher. This in no way impacted on my view.

After meeting a man who claimed to be a prince in a country inn en route to London, Miss Isobel Lennox believes she is ready to take on any of the rakes and rogues the capital throws at her. However, Prince Claudio is in fact a prince, and a cousin to the Queen, so is at every ton event that Isobel attends. She thinks she hates him, but is it not that she hates the feelings his presence incites, and the fact that her unknown parentage means that someone of his stature will never deign to marry an orphan from Scotland?

When I read Miss Rose and the Vexing Viscount, it was clear from the side interactions between Isobel and Claudio that they would have a cracking romance, and this book did not disappoint. From their very first meeting, they had chemistry which was palpable. Claudio was in England to visit with his cousin, Queen Charlotte, and also to find himself, after feeling restless back home in a German principality. He has found some 'friends' who are determined bachelors and would rather spend the majority of their time drinking and carousing, and because of this, Claudio is developing a similar reputation. He is drawn to Isobel, but can't quite understand why when she vexes him so much, and also seems to hate him. I liked the development in Claudio, as he realised that the men who had first befriended him were not the right type of people, and those like Viscount Ashbourne and the Earl of Garvald were better from him. It was funny the way their friendship formed, but the fact that Claudio was willing to do whatever it takes for Isobel was heartbreaking. Their love wasn't an easy one, but definitely worth it in the end! I can't wait for book three, and hope that Anna finds happiness with Garvald.
