When her retelling of Pride and Prejudice becomes a best seller, Jane Romano is thrust into a limelight she was never expecting. The inspiration for her sexy Darcy just happens to be the actor playing said role in the new remake of the original, and he's not particularly keen for the comparisons, and ruined her last book tour with his comments. So when Finn Lyons turns up at her latest signings, and they get stuck in the store cupboard together, it's only going to be a nightmare, right?
This was such a fun take on a P&P retelling. Jane's book was a mix of the original work with Bridgertonesque spiciness mixed in, and she'd imagined Finn's portrayal of Darcy as being the perfect lead in her story. This had gotten Finn more attention than he'd wanted, and he'd dealt with it in the wrong way, which hurt Jane and her confidence. When Finn and Jane actually meet though, they discovered that their chemistry was off the charts, and it was so good to see Finn fall first, and so quickly. A really quick and enjoyable novella!
