Review
After having adored the previous two books in this series, I was desperate to read Allied, and as soon as my copy came, I couldn't stop myself from reading it. Now that Em is actively having to countermand decisions made by crazy sister, Olivia, she is struggle to cope. Nothing she does or says will stop Olivia from her genocidal plan, and all she can do is subtly undermine her, and hopefully not die in the process. We also have Cas, who knows what the Lerans did was wrong, and is trying to recover what good there is in his people, and also work together with Em, in order to unite the humans and the Ruined, as they once were. When Em has to flee from the Ruined, with some powerful defectors alongside, it's her and Cas against the world, as they are facing Olivia, Jovita, and everyone else who isn't happy with them.

This book definitely wove together all of the loose ends, and answered all questions we had from the previous books. There were a ton of differing points of view, and that helped us to understand the story better, rather than being too complicated. We can see the character growth, especially from Em and Cas, from who they were in Ruined, and how they have become the rulers we always knew they could be. Aren and Iria came into their own here, too, and I adored their story. All in all, this book was phenomenal, and I think every fantasy lover should read it!
