Goodreads Synopsis
A thorn in his side, or the woman of his dreams?

Henrietta Redford wishes she were a boy—after all, boys are masters of their own fate. Casting her dolls aside, she climbs trees, plays at swordfighting, and indulges in practical jokes.

Once she’s had her come-out, Henrietta has promised her father that she’ll settle down and marry. Any eligible man might do, but it certainly won’t be Giles Thorpe—the older boy from the estate next door, whose arrogant disdain of her tomboyish ways only increased as he grew into a man.

Until they share a passionate kiss…

After inheriting an earldom when his profligate father died, Giles understands the dangers of irresponsibility. The infuriating tomboy next door is the epitome of recklessness and the last woman he should associate with—no matter how fast his heart beats at the sight of her delectable form.

When scandal threatens to ruin the Thorpe family name, Henrietta, unbeknown to Giles, is his best hope for salvation. But Henrietta will have to sacrifice everything—including the man she’s grown to love.

Review
I received an Advance Reader Copy from the publisher, via NetGalley. This in no way impacted on my view.

For Henrietta Redford, the fact that she is expected to settle down and find a match is not in her plans. Being the only daughter of a wealthy merchant, she has enjoyed her freedom a little too much, and after being caught by her stuck up neighbour, Giles, Earl Thorpe, and punished by her father, she has promised to be the perfect debutante, or at least a wallflower. Doing everything she can to stay out of Giles' way, she's drawn to him, and when she is the family's only hope at surviving scandal, Henry will stop at nothing to help, even if it means losing her love.

I realised I had the whole Misfits of the Ton series to read, and decided now was the right time to binge it all. I liked the premise of the story, and for the most part the romance, but I couldn't get over Giles' hatred for Henrietta at the start, and the way he was so quick to judge her and look down on her. Yes, she was right for him, and was the perfect woman to make him rethink his stoic nature, but he was a bully to Henry, his mother, and his cousin, Beatrice. I liked how Henry and Bea's friendship formed, though it wasn't an easy start. I hope that Henry makes a reappearance in Bea's book, which I think is the next one. I'm definitely planning on completing all 5 books, but I hope that the hero's are better than Giles was.
