Goodreads Synopsis
The bad boy and the golden girl have traded places…
I’m back in Harvest Hollow after ten years to prove a point and to even a few scores. I’ve opened a new bar, and anyone expecting the old sweet and shy Jolie McGraw to be running it is in for a shock.
I’m not the only one who’s changed: when the sheriff comes to tell me I’m the prime suspect in the most ridiculous crime in town history, it’s none other than Lucas Cole, the former star of my teenage stress dreams, wearing the badge.
Seriously? The smack-talking punk I was forced to tutor in math is now one of the town’s most upstanding citizens? This isn’t what I had in mind for turning the tables on my former tormentors.
I blow him off…until I meet the niece he’s raising. I see so much of my younger self in her. But when I agree to help when she needs a woman in her life, Lucas uses it as a chance to build a case that he’s the man I need in mine.
That’s a hard no. No to love. No to Lucas.
But when Harvest Hollow’s nosiest forces combine to push us together, I’m not sure my heart stands a chance.

I received an Advance Reader Copy from the publisher, via NetGalley. This in no way impacted on my view.
For the first time in 10 years, good girl Jolie McGraw is back in Harvest Hollow, but she's changed. Sick of the pedestal she was put on, she's ready to show the town that she is different, and opening the new bar is bound to shock the people. However, the biggest shock is for Jolie seeing that the quintessential bad boy Lucas Cole is now the hometown hero, and the sheriff to boot. Jolie wants nothing to do with Lucas, but his niece makes her reconsider it all.
I fell in love with this book so much more than I was expecting. I like small town romances, and this one hit it all. We had such a great dynamic between Lucas and Jolie, and I could really see through the flashbacks and the current moments how well they worked together. When Lucas became guardian for his niece, Brooklyn, he decided to straighten himself out, and became a cop, then sheriff. He recognised that there was a rot in the system, and he wanted to change it and make the town a better place. Jolie had always been the 'good girl', mainly because of her childhood with an alcoholic father, and she had suffered a lot in school because of this. She was sick to death of being judged, so decided to give them something to judge her on. I loved how she really took Brooklyn under her wing, and was the female role model she needed in her life. Jolie also did not make it easy for Lucas to win her over, and it was engaging to see their romance progress.
