Goodreads Synopsis
The third romantic chapter of the Regency Royals series by USA Today Bestselling Author Jess Michaels

Prince Remington of Athawick has known one thing his entire life: he is just the spare. His reaction has always been to go wild, giving him a reputation as a dissolute rake who is great for a little fun, but not exactly dependable. Only now, as his family is changing, his role is beginning to grate and he isn’t sure what to do next.

Lady Priscilla is in Athawick for a royal wedding, but what she really wants is to save herself from a looming future she cannot control. What better way to fix all her problems than to marry Remi’s brother, King Grantham, who is perfectly matched with her, at least on paper?

She needs help and turns to Remi to teach her how to catch a king’s eye. Except the only eye she seems to be catching is Remi’s and soon they’re caught up in much more desire and connection than either of them bargained for. Can a wallflower tame a wild prince? Or will they keep themselves from what could be their happy ever after?

Review
I received an Advance Reader Copy from the publisher. This in no way impacted on my view.

After seeing his two sisters find love and happiness, Prince Remington of Athawick is starting to think that his devil may care attitude and persona might not be enough for him. He knows his place in this family is to be the spare, the one to have a laugh and not take things seriously - that's King Grantham's job - but his role is starting to grate on him, and he needs a change. When Lady Priscilla fled home and travelled with her friends to Athawick for the royal wedding, she knew she needed to find a way out, and quickly. Her home life has been in disarray ever since her father's remarriage, and would just be worse when she returns. Her hope is to find someone to marry, or if she has to, to take her as his mistress, so she can be free, and she sets her sights on the cold and unwelcoming king. But, she can't get through to him, but Prince Remington offers to help. Will she be able to realise that the perfect man for her is right in front of her, or will Remi not be able to convince her he's changed?

I adored reading Ilaria and Sasha's love stories and have had a soft spot for Prince Remington since we met him. He's someone who is clearly putting up a front for others, but inside I could see his late father had affected him more than he said, and he needed someone to be able to break down the walls, and let the real Remi come through. And Priscilla was perfect for this. She saw herself as a wallflower - and the way her family treated her didn't help - and was really unassuming and lacking in confidence. But meeting Remi changed all that. He saw her as a rose amongst thorns, and she was able to get him to open up, and become the person who he needed to be, and who his family needed. I loved their banter, and the way they came together so gradually, before the revelation of love. I will admit, I was shocked when the twist happened, and couldn't have asked for it to be resolved in any better way. I have a feeling that Lady Ophelia is going to be a big part of Grantham's story, and am impatiently awaiting book 4!
