Review
I had heard many great things about this book before I picked it up, so I think it's safe to say I did have some expectations. I was not disappointed.
The main character in this novel is Lia, a princess who runs
away on the day of her wedding to a prince she has never met before. She
travels to town, becomes a waitress in a bar, and tries to blend in with the
'common' people.
Whilst there she meets two men, Rafe and Kaden, who we know
nothing about. We met earlier in the book the 'Prince' and the 'Assassin' who
had followed her. These two we learn are Rafe and Kaden, but the identity of
which is actually which is only discovered towards the last third of the book.
I'd actually thought I'd worked out who was who early on, but this turned out to
be wrong, which I was pleasantly surprised about.
The romance in this book is so cute and sweet, and I had
lots of feels. I think this could actually turn out to be an OTP of mine, I
would go down with this ship so much. I could see the appeal with both of the guys, but the one she actually chose (well, for now, at least), I'm glad it was him!
