Goodreads Synopsis
I threw a pecan pie at Wyatt Rivers, my ex’s brother, and now we’re fake-engaged on a reality show.
#PieGate went viral. A producer cast us in Homegrown Hearts. I need the prize to save my diner. He needs it for his cousin’s rehab. Deal: fake it, win it, walk away.
Except Wyatt doesn’t play fair.
He fixes things I don’t ask for. Stands too close when cameras are off. Kisses me for “practice,” and his hands forget where to stop.
Wyatt liked me first. I picked Aaron. And we’ve hated each other ever since.
A storm traps us with only one bed. I end up in his arms like I’ve been fighting gravity for fifteen years. For one reckless night, I believe he’s different.
Then my ex, Aaron, leaks Wyatt’s secret bull-riding contract on live TV—a contract that forces him to leave Sagebrush Ridge.
If I can’t tell the cowboy who stays from the one who leaves… I’ll lose more than the contest.
I’ll lose the one thing I’ve wanted since I was eleven—to be chosen.

Review
I received an Advance Reader Copy from the publisher, via Booksprout. This in no way impacted on my view.
When Abby throws a pie at Wyatt Rivers, neither of them could expect it to have such a profound impact on their lives. Once friends, they have avoided each other for the last few years, and there's something about Wyatt's happy go lucky smile that riles Abby up to no end. But now they've gone viral, and the only way to save her family's diner is for Abby and Wyatt to pretend to be in love, and even get engaged, all for a reality tv show. It may have started out as a story, but they soon rediscover what made them so close in the past, and the line between love and hate gets ever smaller.
This was a slower read than I was expecting, though part of that could have been because I was away while reading this book too. I liked the idea of Abby and Wyatt being former best friends, who had always had feelings for each other, but one thing or another kept them apart. For Abby, she dated Wyatt's brother, Aaron, and the rest of the town think Wyatt is just a a playboy cowboy, who will never really achieve anything. He's been in love with Abby since he was 11, but seeing her pick his brother changed something in him, and made him more reckless and flighty. There was definitely a redemption arc for Wyatt in this story, especially with Abby's family. I do feel that some of the drama in the book could've been fixed much quicker if they had just spoken to each other as adults, rather than hiding everything. Even so, it was an enjoyable contemporary read.

Goodreads Synopsis
Paris was supposed to stay a one-time sin I left in the sheets.
Turns out she’s my best friend’s sister… and now her kid has my eyes.
She was supposed to be just one reckless night.
Red lips. Wild laugh. Nails raking down my back.
A night that should’ve ended at sunrise.
Instead, I find her six years later in Copper Creek.
My best friend’s little sister. Messy bun, sharp tongue, curves that make my zipper ache.
The woman who still steals my breath.
I came to close a deal.
Now I’m tangled in her fire and her bed.
She glares, I smirk. She pushes, I pull harder.
And somewhere between fights and firelight, I fall.
For her laugh. For her strength. For the way she makes me want more than control.
But the truth detonates.
Beside her is a boy with my grin and my attitude.
She didn’t just keep her distance. She kept my son.
Now I’m fighting for her trust.
Because losing them isn’t an option I’ll survive.

When Chase Langston arrives in the small town of Copper Creek, he never expected his life to change so much. He may be a billionaire, and more than able to find someone to spend the night with, but a hot and steamy night in Paris 6 years ago have left him wanting more. All he knows about the mystery woman was her name, Mia, and that they would only have the one night together. So when he arrives to help his old college roommate, Gabriel Torres, on his ranch, and discovers that Gabe's little sister is the woman he can't forget, Chase is ready to do what it takes to prove he is worth the risk. But Mia's 5 year old son, Noah, might throw a spanner in the works - especially when it's obvious how similar he and Chase are.
This was a definitely enjoyable read. Full of tropes such as brother's best friend, enemies to lovers, and found family, I was hooked from the beginning, and read it all in one sitting. Chase and Mia definitely didn't have it easy to get to a happy ending. I really liked the way that they didn't push it too hard to begin with, and though there was a moment when I thought Chase's actions were a bit much, I did understand some of the rationale behind his reaction. Chase, Mia, and Noah were the cutest family, and I really hope we see more of them!

The Billionaire's Cupcake
Series: None

Published January 16th 2026
Goodreads Synopsis
My bakery goes up in flames, my life goes viral, & my brother’s best friend pulls me from the smoke.
I swore I’d never fall for my brother’s best friend.
Now I’m fake-engaged to him after my bakery catches fire.
My life goes viral for all the wrong reasons—the cake collapses, my ex dumps me, and my bakery literally burns down.
Then he shows up.
Jacob Wolcott. My brother’s best friend.
Grumpy, bossy, too handsome for his own good—and the man who once broke me as a teenager just by smiling.
He saves me from the smoke, hires me to rebuild his dessert menu, and drives me insane every single day.
We fight. We flirt. We cross lines we shouldn’t, and somewhere between flour fights and midnight tastings, I start to fall for him.
Then his ex-wife ambushes us together in a custody power move. When Jacob blurts out the one lie that changes everything—that we’re engaged.
Now I’m pretending to love a man who already owns my heart.
If the truth comes out, I’ll lose my reputation, my bakery…
and the only man who’s ever truly seen me.

Lila Carpenter never thought her life could get any worse, until it did. Becoming a viral meme for an edited video her ex boyfriend sends, her world collapses when the bakery she has poured her time and soul into is burnt down. And to make matters worse, her brother's best friend, billionaire Jacob Wolcott, sees her at her worst. Jacob was always drawn to Lila, but as his best friend's little sister, she was always off limits. Now though, she's single, and he can help her. Giving her a job in his restaurant, in charge of pastry, Jacob discovers that spending time with her every day is not the easiest, when he's trying to fight his growing feelings. But then to complicate things further, Jacob blurts out that they are engaged, so that he can protect his custody rights over his soon. Will their fake engagement stay fake, or can Lila and Jacob act on their feelings.
I can't get enough of the brother's best friend trope, and The Billionaire's Cupcake dealt with the trope well. Lila and Jacob had a connection for the last 15 years, but Jacob never acted on it because of his loyalty to his best friend, Zachary. Now, however, they are both consenting adults, and there's next to now reason why they shouldn't be together. Even so, the path to true love was not easy, and they go through a lot of twists and turns before they are able to be happy. There were a few times when I wish the main characters had communicated better, and didn't immediately jump to conclusions. That being said, I still enjoyed the book, and the found family aspect of Lila, Jacob, and Jace, was great to explore.
